Mallalli Falls is on the Kumaradhara River in the Pushpagiri foothills, on the Somwarpet side of Kodagu. It is a different route from Madikeri’s town attractions, so give the journey and the visit their own space in your itinerary.

Plan for the approach and return climb
Check the current visitor route, walking distance and steps before leaving. A downhill approach can mean a more demanding climb back, especially for children or guests with limited mobility. Ask locally whether the available viewing point suits your group.
Wear footwear with grip and carry drinking water. Use the designated visitor areas, stay behind barriers and do not climb onto wet rocks or attempt to reach the river below.
Let the weather guide the visit
Rain changes water flow, road conditions and the safety of paths. Recheck local access advice after heavy rainfall and accept closures. A photograph from another season is not a reliable guide to conditions on your day.
- Confirm current hours, entry charges and parking arrangements.
- Allow time for rest stops and the return walk.
- Keep children close near steps and viewpoints.
- Carry rain protection and take litter away.
Choose one waterfall route at a time
If your trip is centred on Madikeri and you want a shorter outing, compare the route with Abbey Falls. Avoid combining distant waterfalls simply because they are all listed under Coorg.
