Nagarahole Tiger Reserve extends across parts of Kodagu and Mysuru and protects habitat for elephants, tigers, deer and many other species. A safari can be part of a Coorg holiday, but it needs a confirmed entry point and booking plan rather than a general map search for the park.

Choose the gate before planning the drive
Different entry points can involve very different journeys. Use the official reserve website and its linked booking portal to check the available safari location, reporting time, identification requirements and booking method. Online and counter arrangements can differ by gate and change over time.
Match your route to the entry point on your confirmation. Allow time to arrive before reporting closes, especially if staying in the Madikeri area.
What a safari can and cannot promise
Wildlife sightings are unpredictable. Enjoy the habitat and the species you encounter without expecting a tiger or any other particular animal. Remain in the authorised vehicle, keep noise low and follow the guide’s instructions. Independent walks into protected forest are not part of an ordinary safari visit.
- Check the reserve’s current notices before paying and before departure.
- Carry the identification required for the booking.
- Confirm the vehicle, gate and total price.
- Follow restrictions on food, litter, flash photography and getting out of vehicles.
Keep the day focused
Do not crowd a safari day with distant sightseeing stops. Browse our Coorg guides for separate outings, and contact Wooden Pearl for accommodation enquiries. A homestay booking does not include a safari reservation.
